NWA 6168 - A New Brecciated L3 (S2, W1)
NWA 6168 614g main mass
This meteorite was purchased 12/23/09 from a broker in Morocco, and cut by Kerf Industries on a wire saw into slices and a type specimen which was analyzed by Ray Pickard of the Bathurst Observatory in Australia. The stone was very fresh and exhibited brecciation through portions of flight broken crust. NWA 6168 is a brecciated L3 with lighter colored L4 clasts, and is probably paired with NWA 5667/5701. The main mass of this meteorite was featured on Rocks From Space Picture of the Day March 29, 2010.
